You can also activate Google Analytics from this screen, too.  Just click the link at the top that says “Activate Etsy Web Analytics to monitor the traffic your shop receives from partner websites”.

All three of us were up way too late the night before getting ready.  Here’s a tip: don’t wait till the night before to get your booth set-up worked out.  Sorry about the bad quality of the pictures, in my rush to get everything I forgot my good camera and had to take these with my video camera.  Add that to the list of stuff to take care of next time.  In the end it was a good show, I hope more NDE team members will join us next year!

1. Go to www.google.com/base.
Click on the “Create an account now” button.
Note: Even if you have a Google account, you must sign up for a Google Base account.

2. Fill in your shop name, shop description, and website URL.  The rest is all optional, I left it all blank.  Accept the terms of service at the bottom and click “Save Updates”.

Note:  You must use your URL with the numbers at the end, not the one with your shop name.

3. This will bring you back to the dashboard page.  Click “Data Feeds”.

4. Click “New Data Feed”.

5. Select “United States”  Select “Products”  Make sure it says “googlebase”  For the data feed filename type “yourshopname.xml”  Click “Register data feed”

6. This will take you back to the data feeds page.  Click “Edit” next to your data feed name.

7. Make sure it says googlebase.  Select “Autodetect”.  Select “UTF-8”.  Click on “Save Changes”.

8. This will take you back to     the data feeds page.  Click “Create” under the Upload Schedule.

9. Open a new window and go to your Etsy shop and right click on “Subscribe to shop feed”.  Click on “Copy Shortcut”.

10. Go back to the Scheduled Upload page.  Select how often you want it to update your listings.  Paste the shortcut that you just copied from your Etsy page into the “URL of file” field.  Click “Schedule”.

It will take up to 24 hours for your items to show up in the Google Product search results. To find them, go to www.google.com/products and in the search box type “shopping results for yourshopname”. This should bring up your results.

Lonna of Sydney’s Designs is our founder and President. You may address her as Madame President, Queen Lonna, or just “the one in charge.” She makes great hats, laptop covers, blankets and more.

Nicki of Nikobee is our Publicity and Recruitment leader. She dyes and spins beautiful fibers, and has just started making the most amazing soaps.

Ariela of RBK Creations is our Social Networking leader. She makes adorable bouquets out of buttons, and precious little things out of felt.

Erin (that’s me!) of a Beach Breeze is our Website and Graphics leader. I sew, with my signature creation being reusable shopping bags out of reclaimed fabric.

So there you have it. The gang is working really hard to make the best Etsy team anyone’s ever seen.
